The project investigated the current situation of Egyptian labor migrants in one of its major Arab destinations, Jordan. The project was equally an opportunity to collect information on the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of Egyptian migrant workers. The project has also studied the impact of the Syrian refugees’ influx on the Egyptian migrants.
The key objectives of this assignment were:
• To understand the impact of the regional political environment on the large Syrian influx to Jordan on Egyptian migrant workers in Jordan.
• To understand the impact of the changes on the demand and supply of Egyptian migrant workers and their work conditions.
• To suggest policies that can improve the governance of Egyptian labor migration to Jordan.
