For the International Committee of the Red Cross, the id:rc is leading a consortium that will provide Technical Assistance (TA) to the Ninawa Directorate of Water (DoW) to achieve equitable and sustainable water services in Mosul and Tal Afar.  This TA aims to enable the of DoW to plan, operate, maintain,  manage, administer, and govern improved water services and to ensure the continuity of water services in a sustainable manner.  This TA is an important step in building and reforming the existing capabilities of the organization to deliver equitable and sustainable services. The programme’s specific objectives include (i) Promoting equitable access for the population in Mosul and Tal Afar to municipal water services; (ii) Improving the quality of municipal water services in Mosul and Tal Afar in terms of continuity, water quality, and quantity; (iii) Reducing the environmental footprint of Mosul and Tal Afar municipal water service; and (iv) Supporting the DoW to move towards recovering the entire control of the operation of Mosul and Tal Afar water services to ultimately ensure their sustainability.
