A Tanzanian freight and cargo logistics company has recently requested US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) funding for a feasibility study that would help to review the technical, economic, environmental and other aspects of building new port infrastructure near the Mtwara Freeport Zone (MFZ) in southeastern Tanzania.
The id:rc was just contracted by USTDA to conduct the due diligence on the project and give a recommendation to USTDA as to whether to funds the feasibility study or not. Tasks under this assignment include:
• Assessing and justifying whether or not USTDA should provide funding for the proposed study, technical assistance or other trade capacity building activity,
• Providing supporting technical and financial analysis on eth viability of the proposed project, and
• Assessing the potential of the port sector in Tanzania for U.S. suppliers of goods and services.
