As a sub-contractor to Chemonics International on the USAID funded Iraq Together/Ma’an (معاً) activity, which supports select Iraqi government entities at the national, regional, provincial, and district levels to improve service delivery performance, the id:rc has just launched an activity to develop Solid Waste Management cost recovery models for Baghdad, Anbar, Basrah and Najaf municipalities.  The effort will document and detail the methodology to use the cost recovery model for cost recovery analysis and maximize revenues and recommendations for cost reduction measures for operational efficiencies.  Part of the work that the id:rc will lead also includes training and building the capacity of the targeted municipalities staff on using the cost recovery models and methodologies for planning and budgeting purposes to maximize revenues and optimize expenditures.
